New SFL Youth Team
Wednesday 9th June 2010
Berwick Rangers have appointed local coach Bill Blyth to recruit and train a representative team for the Scottish Football League’s under -17 competition commencing in August.
Bill, well known for his work with Lowick Utd and the Glendale League, will start work immediately to attract young players from North Northumberland and the Borders. The team will train in Berwick two evenings a week, with most matches on Sundays.
There will be an open trial for young players on Saturday 19th June, commencing at 10.30am, at Lowick Utd’s ground. Potential players must be born on or after 1st January 1994, with the exception of goalkeepers, where no age restriction applies.
Berwick Rangers would like to acknowledge the support given by the Littlewoods ‘Fit for Life’ initiative, which has given financial support to youth development, and will also enable SFL youths to receive heart screening at Hampden and alcohol and drug awareness sessions.
Prospective players are asked to download a form by following the link below, complete it and bring it along on the day.
