In our two home friendlies played over the weekend of 17th and 19th July we had mixed fortunes. On the Saturday 17th we held a strong Raith Rovers team to a 1-1 draw with Paul Currie equalising in 40 minutes after John Baird gave Rovers an early lead and we had chances to win the game late on. However on Monday 19th an attractive Sunderland X1 including a few players with First team experience were too strong for us and won 5-0. Next game is Friday 23rd July at home to SPL St Johnstone (7.30pm) and The Berwick advertiser is running a half price voucher for fans ( 1 voucher per person) giving £4 off adult and £2 off concession prices.
DARREN GRIBBEN has re-joined the club after a season at Juniors Bo'ness United where he won a Championship Junior Medal. 25 year old Darren was top scorer for us in 2008/9 and takes our signed players too 18.
