RANGERS U18's 3-3 ALBION ROVERS
Johnny Harvey rescued a
point for the U18's at Shielfield tonight, coming on at half time to score
an equaliser and set-up another. Rovers had led 1-0 at half time through
McGuiness. But Sean Black scored a corking goal on the hour mark to make
it 1-1. Rovers re-took the lead a minute later after some sloppy
defending. Then Johnny Harvey made it 2-2, picking the ball up on the edge
of the area and drilling the ball over the Albion 'keeper on the
half-volley. Harvey turned provider ten minutes later when he fired in a
great cross for Dean Scott to glance over the 'keeper and into the top
corner. But a minute later Rovers equalised to make it 3-3- again poor
defending. All-in-all, a very entertaining game, with Johnny Harvey, Ross
Alexander (above), Sean Black and Gary Fusco all having outstanding games.
It's worth remembering that the Albion Rovers boys are all training full
time at Cliftonhill.
